Since replacing the front pads, the brake pedal seems spongy or that it's losing pressure within the master cyl. Sometimes the pedal goes almost to the floor. I turned the rotors and flushed the system with new fluid and the level in resevoir is ok. Could the master be bad at 55k mi? or could it still have air in the system? Any ideas?

David, 3 things.

1. Adjust the rear brakes if you have drums in the back first. If disc's go to number 2

If you pump the pedal does it get firm? if not you have air in the system.

2. Re bleed the brakes ALL 4....

check the pedal if good, then that was it. If not, hold the pedal and lightly release the pressure, but do not let it raise up, then push down, if it goes lower than te first time it could be a bad master...
