Wheel offset question

Is the offset positive or negative? IMO negative will put way too much pressure on the suspension and positive will rub BIG time.

Someone, one of these days, needs to measure the ST for wheel fitment so we don't have to guess so much.

Although I do agree with Spiff, -2" offset on a 10" wheel would put 7" of heavy wheel where the suspension has to work a lot harder to control wheel movement. And if it's positive...that's 7" of wheel inside the wheel housing, where it'll rub sway bars, wheel liners, all those type of things.

OK so I believe they were RWD wheels so probably negative. So then the wheels would stick waaay out right? What's the correct metric and standard size to look for on a 15" x 10" wheel then? I have seeing 48mm 25mm and so on, what the hell are they?

On a 10" wide rim you want 4" to 4.5" backspace. Leaving out the thickness of the rim center, that's 1" to .5" negative offset. A lot of the blingin' rims have 2" or more positive offset, tucking the tire/wheel closer to the body, because they're really desinged for GM's.

Happy to help. Now for the love of God and all that's good about Sport Tracs, get some rims and bigger tires. I've seen the pics.

A check for Brandon's Tire Fund is in the mail.
