We have a '68 F250 that we need to buy new wheels for. The truck currently has 16.5" wheels on it and we're being told that in the next couple of years you won't be able to buy 16.5" tires. Since the truck needs new tires, we decided to go ahead and replace the wheels at the same time. Now, we don't want to buy brand new wheels, we are planning to buy some used wheels.

Our question is, is the bolt pattern for the 68 the same as it is for the newer trucks? 8 lugs wheels are not easy to come by around here off of old trucks, the selection is better for newer fords. I've done lots of searching and can't find the answer.

I think '97 and older is still the 8x6.5 pattern for the F-250. Dodge and Chevy may still be the same, I dunno, not sure about the offset. But 8x6.5" is the bolt pattern you want.
