Hello i am looking for some off-road type wheels however i only have a stock Sport Trac 03 XLT size 255/70-16 tires and my wheels now r 16x7 and it seems all the good wheels i find are 16x8 and i want to know if i got the 16x8 wheel size would it be okay still or will there be a difference in the lug size or whatever like will it go on my truck with no problems thank you very much.....

As long as the other wheels have a 5x4.5 bolt pattern they will bolt on fine.

However.....

Most 16x8 wheels have a GM-type offset, i.e. more backspacing than will work on a Ford, even if they do have a Ford bolt pattern. You want a wheel with 3.75" to 4.00" backspacing, or you will need to use spacers because the tires will hit on the inside.

The 16x8's with the least amount of backspacing I've found are the Pro Comp 1069 and 1089.

Are you wanting to keep the same tires? Yes, you can stop reading and refer to everything JohnnyO said. If you're getting new tires, also:

If you want to save some money on both wheels immediately and tires in the future, 15s are much cheaper and have a lot more options. Not all 15s clear the calipers, though. Cragar Soft 8s are proven to fit and come in 15x8 or 15x10 with 3.75" backspacing and would definitely fit.

You could even get 17" wheels for roughly the same cost as 16s and tires will be about the same price for 16s or 17s. Both will cost more than 15s, though.
