Are wheel spacers safe? I heard that it affects handling and braking. And can I also put the spacers up front? I want a wider stance but not if it will make my drive unsafe. thanks

I never put them on my st...but My girl friend had 3 inch spacers on the back of her mustang. Looked great....never gave her any problems...other than her shocks were bad and every time she hit a bump they tires would rub on the wheel well. Other than that braking was fine, etc.:D

Eric,

Do a search on wheel spacers, or spacers and you will find a lot of information. Spacers are generally safe as long as you maintain them. Check them when you do an oil change, etc and you will be fine. I have 1.5" spacers on the rear and nothing in the front because my tires are too wide. Depending on the size of your tires you should be able to fit them on the fronts.

Eric,

I have 2" spacers on the rear and 1.5" on the front and have no real problems with them. I do have alittle rubbing when I turn sharply but I can live with that.

I have 1.5in spacers on my 2002 4x4 with stock wheels. Slight rubbing when wheel is fully turned and entering a parking lot etc. I performed a torsion twist/shackle lift and have no rubbing issues. PS It looks great when your finished.
