Which Alternator have I?

I understand some Sport Trac models shipped with something less than a 130 amp alternator. How can I tell which my '01 gen 2 has? I've never had it replaced, tsb or otherwise, and mine did not come with the sub-woofer stereo package, in case that helps. I need to either replace it with a 130 amp unit, or if it has the 130 amp, get an aftermarket 200 amp to handle some lighting and stereo stuff.

somewhere on the case it should say what amperage it is. you may have to remove it to see.

If its a tag, its gone. If its stamped on, well, NJ snow and salt got rid of that.

Take your VIN number to a dealer; they can check what was the original.
