There have been a few messages this week but many over the course of the few years I have been here that have shed some light on the personalities on the site.

We have some very opinionated people that put it all out there and don't care what others think.

We have some peacemakers.

We have some that just go with the flow and add their 2 cents and move on.

I am a middle child.

What are you?

Oldest of 3 boys, 3 and 11 years younger

I am both. Huh? I was adopted a couple of days after I was born and I am 52 now. My family being a mom, dad an me,, making me an only child. During my childhood I also had an adopted adopted family which had 3 girls and a boy already. But wait. Four years ago I meet my some of my biological family. Of which I am next to the oldest, with a total five brothers and sisters, nine of us living. And No I am not on anything, but after this maybe I should be. I don't get to see or hear from them much. You think your life is weird. Try being an only child, but yet having brother and sister, plus their kids.

I am the oldest of three...all born on the 9th of a month...my sister, the youngest, and I were born on the the same date and day, twenty minutes apart. The joke is that it was cold and that she waited five years to come out.

O.K., my quick "Only Child" story...

My mom had 14 in her family, even split of 7 boys, 7 girls. My dad had 12 in his family,

again, an even split, this time 6 boys and 6 girls. As I was growing up and friends and

classmates of mine hearing this story, and finding out that I was an only child, asked

why? Mom and dad would explain it to them that "Enough was Enough", and they

wanted some "elbow room"!!! Can't blame 'em!!!:D

Only child by my mom and pops. Pops went on to have another son by a different wife so I have a half brother. Mom never had another and I was raised by pops;).

I have three older siblings (we only share a father). One set of twins and out of that set, one was a retarted girl and a a normal boy), than my father had another son.

I only consider 1 of them my brother. The others are my half siblings.

Dad got remarried to my mom. I was the first of two for those two. Myself and my sister that is 4 years younger.

Our ages are as follows.

Twins are 52 (The retarted one was not supposed to live past age 5)

My brother, Larry, is 50.

I am 33 (34 in september)

and my little sister is 29.

Gee, Tom...

I may put My foot in My mouth on this one, and I don't believe in "Political

Correctness" and all, but, maybe, "Developmentally Disabled", or "Special Needs",

or something like that? Please, forgive me, but when it comes to family, cannot we

use some tender words?

I know I'll get some feedback on this one, but I meant it with respect...Sincerely...

Tracnblack,

Maybe I could. If you look at the diagnosis of my sister it says "Severe Mental Retardation". This is coming from doctors, so I am not sure if they are using the correct terms either, but she is severely retarted.

Her hobbies include beating her head on the floors and walls, waving her hand in front of her face, and screaming at the top of her lungs.
