8 months in Afghanistan. I dropped her off bright and early this morning. It still hasn't really set in yet I don't think.

Jacob, I'll say a prayer for her safety and your sanity each night. You've got two beautiful children, just remember, they grow up to be us! LOL. If your wife has an e-mail over there let us know so we can spam her all day. Bob

She's headed to Camp Leatherneck which by the sounds of it is very large. She is the doctor for her battalion (NMCB3) so chances are she won't have to leave the base. However some of the corpsmen who report to her will have to go out with some of the smaller detachments for their construction/security jobs.

So chances are she'll be fine.. it's really just about the time away.

Very difficult.. I go through Atlanta quite a bit, and transfer alot of troops.. They ALWAYS drink for free on my plane. May not agree with political policies, but those men and women, should always be supported for their sacrifices. Be very proud of her, and teach the kids the same. It's been 9 years since I've been in the service, and I miss the heck out of it.
