I currently have 235 70 R16 tires now and want to put 235 85 R16 on to get a little lift without doing any lifting adjustments . Will they fit without any problems? Other suggestions?

I dont know about the fit and turning. That is going to a tire that is 1.7" taller. That will really effect low end performance. Since you have 3:73 rear gears that will drop the ratio to about 3:50. Your highway milage will gain. Your intown might suffer.

Other that have done this will chime in....

I did a 1" tt on my 02 st 4wd to fit 265/75 r16. Stock for me was 255/70. I have 4.10 and I felt a slow down in get up which, I think, gives me roughly the 3.73. But I'm happy enough w/ this setup

255/70 is about 30.1 depending on manufacture

265/75 is about 31.6 depending on ". The tires I got were spec at 31.9

I had rub on inner splash in the front (rear of tire) and rear tires. This is w/out cladding. Once I installed new shocks I now do not rub on the front tires (except the sway bar, which is a given). Shocks were stock 167k

235/70 is another factory size for the st but I though that came in 15 rims?

235/85 is about 30.7 depending on tire manufacture, so I would conclude you would at the very least need to perform a tt BUT your mileage may very

EDIT: Sorry 235/85 is 31.7 abouts

235/70/16 came stock with the 3.73 gears. Trucks with 4.10 gears got 255/70/16. I think there were very few with 15" rims, probably early '01s.
