My wife just bought a new laptop with Windows 7 and it came with a very basic Office 2010 package. She is dissapointed that the Office package doesn't have Outlook and Publisher. I have Office 2007 that has that and more. My questions are:

-Would the Office 2007 be compatable with the Windows 7?

-If it is, I would imagine that I would have to uninstall the basic Office 2010 package before I installed Office 2007?

-Where do you go in the system to create system restore discs. My last computer prompted me right at the setup time? Also, could I just copy the C & D drives to my portable 1 TB hard drive as a back up.

Thanks for any tech info!

Yes, Office 2007 will work perfectly in Windows 7. Uninstall Office 2010 and reboot the computer before you instal 2007.

Yes, you can back up to your external drive. In fact, that is what I suggest to my customers. If you have a catastrophic failure your data will be accessible.
