Is anyone here using Windows 8...what are the pro's and con's I never even upgraded to Window's 7 because I have Window's XP Professional installed on all my pc's and was happy with it. After 3 Service packs and countless security patches from Microsoft, it still works great
I bought a Windows-8 upgrade, but have not installed it yet. I thought I would install it on my netbook PC and see if I liked it before considering installing it on my main PC.
So any comments anyone has would be appreciated.

I haven't tried it so I can't judge. But, other than the touch screen support that seems to be all the ads for seem to be touting, what else does it do that is a big advance over 7, Or even XP?

Yes, I know Windows-8 works with touch-screen tablets and functions similar to tablet PC's but then, tablets don't have hard drives, printers or other internal and external devices.
I also understand that Window-8 does not include the Windows Media Player. You have to buy the Media Player as an optional software upgrade? That might be OK if you can download a free Media Player from 3rd party software vendors like you can for Android tablets and smartphones.
