I'm having a problem with the windshield washer fluid nozzle on the drivers side. Instead of the washer fluid squirting out on the windshield, it's coming out the backside of the nozzle. See the video below.

I'm pretty sure that the washer fluid delivery line has simple become detached from the spray nozzle--but I'm not sure at how to get at that to fix it. How does the plastic shield come off to allow this access? Or is there some other route I need to take?

Thanks!

Check the link below to remove the cowl panel. The washer hoses are REAL short and go through a hole in the cowl into the underhood area en-route to the reservoir/pump. You may can get a little slack there to work with.

It's also helpful if you're accustomed to working with a short hose...................:bwahaha:

TSA screeners didn't say anything. They were just silent in jaw-dropped awe.

Follow-up--

Got the cowl off, and discovered that it wasn't a disconnected hose. Instead, the nozzle itself was cracked in half--and the tab on the cowl which holds the nozzle in place was also cracked. So now I'm likely going to want to replace both of them...

Stopped in at John's Auto Parts tonight, trapsed out in the yard in the pouring rain (temp was barely above freezing), and pulled a new driver's cowl assembly off an '00 Explorer. Put it on when I got home, and everything now appears to be good as new! Thanks again everyone!
