Xcal2 tuner will not correct speedometer issues??

At least thats what the tech dept. at SCT told me anyway. They said the ST could have a mechanical speedometer & therefore the Xcal can not change the speedometer & correct for tire size difference. I've e-mailed the guys at Bamachips to try to get verification on this. Man, I hope they are wrong---That was the deciding factor on my purchase:angry:

I can't say for sure, but I thought the ST has an electronic speedo, not mechanical.

It's definitely electrical, and the Xcal can fix it. Talk to WFoy.

When I went to 285-75-16's, my XCAL2 from Wayne Foy corrected the tire size. It does work!

it fixed mine i had to try different size tires on the program to get it exact with my 2 gps's it is now perfect

I have adjusted the speedometers on many of my customers Sport Tracs, I have never had an issue with any until yours.

I spoke with Andy at SCT and he is also unsure of the reason why your speedometer isnt working after the adjustment.



The only thing I can think of at this point, is that the extreme tire size you have gone to is out of the range of operation for the pcm code.

Also it could also be the possibility that the 01 Job 1s were the only ones non adjustable, but I havent run acrossed anotherJob1 that I have had these issues with.



Mike, check your email, you have some files to test, we may have found the issue. Not a common one for sure.

Todd-- I only contacted Bamachips because the tech at SCT thought they might have some input since they deal with a lot of Explorer stuff. I figured I'd give it a try

Everybody--I dont know if Waynes new programs will fix my speedo or not, But I will have to give him an "A" for effort. He has been trying to get this issue solved for a while now & I do appreciate it. Very good customer service.
