Figured since the truck is making a tiny bit more power than stock, and the small little detail of 215k miles, I would do a bit of a refresh up front. No odd noises, or chain rattle or phaser knock, more preventative than anything.
Upgraded/latest VCT solenoids
Meilling HV pump
Modified Iron chain tensioners
And maybe some guides. The truck has been meticulously maintained from day one(but heat cycled plastic is always a gamble) , so I’m not expecting extremely worn guides or stretched chains-knock on wood lol.
The phasers looked fine when I put the cams in, so I might buy a billet crank sprocket with the money saved there, although I haven’t seen failures like the coyote at higher hp levels, so it may be money best spent elsewhere. I wish the ford racing valve covers weren’t damn near $400, but they do look good though!
