When i did detailing it depended on area, season, but over all a good water based silicone treatment works best and leaves less streaks...

I use armorall plastic restorer on mine. It doesn't last too long, but it does protect the cover from sun and rain.

Meguiars leather protectant believe it or not. Occasionally ill use Meguiars Ultimate black trim restore. - Love this stuff but takes time.
