If you go over the 2 inches of lift and then the suspension travels out on the lee side of a bump it WILL break your CV axle like a twig!! (Happened to me after I went through a moguls type trail.) Also when I dialed the twist down a bit and ran just over the 2" mark my axles wore out just...
I would say do not get :fire: a Cardone axle shaft!! I have replaced the shafts in my Trac 6 times. And both axle seals leak a bit now even though I got Genuine Ford parts. I layed out the first axle beside my original Ford shaft which I replaced as a preventative measure. . . . the shaft was...
Dan I feel your pain buddy. I have a 2001 sport Trac 4X4 and mine ate six driveshafts before I got one that didn't blow up soon after I installed it. Even the one in the truck now is making the noise like a hammer hitting the shaft but it doesn't shake the truck so I left it. I'm sure you are...
Hey that's great for Penzoil what does it cost a liter?
I work at a cab company in the repair shop and we use Amsoil 5W30 in our cabs. Cabs change oil at 25000KM some of the bosses run their oil for 40000KM.

I need to get a steering shaft extension for my 2001 Explorer Sport Trac. I installed a body lift but the kit did not include a steering shaft extension. Please hook me up!
LOL you are right about the rack and pinion I don't know what I was thinking!. I can watch my Trac's Gas guage move now on my way to work. I have a Fuel efficient car if need be for the daily commute. I'll let you know what is happening on the project as it unfolds. I really like the idea of...
Well to start off I'd like to say I don't do any rock climbing at all. I am more into mud, snow and being able to go places with no roads. I live in Saskatchewan Canada ..... Google it we are flat for the most part but we do have some wild areas to explore. My ST is a daily driver in fact it...
You think a Dana 44 won't survive the 38" tires? I better look into that. $4000 is a bit steep LOL I would gladly pay that much but then I would be homeless and missing parts of my anatomy Hahaha
Hey I'm looking to lift mt Sport Trac up to fit 38X13.5X16 tires. This is going to require ditching the front diff and axles for a solid axle setup. It has been done and I have some plans in place to accomplish the task but I can't find a front diff for the operation. Help.
