    P 0122 TPS Questions

Thanks FE04! I'll see if I can tweak it this weekend. I've driven it since testing (which involved connecting/disconnecting the harness from the sensor several times) and the shift points have smoothed back to normal. I suspect either a marginal sensor or a marginal connection, not a hard...

    P 0122 TPS Questions

I tested the TPS tonight. I had a solid 1.0 at 'idle' and 4.61 at WOT. The voltage changed smoothly through cycling the throttle. Does that really indicate a 'bad' sensor? It sounds a little low at wot, but otherwise seems to work. Should I clear the code and see if it runs any better...

    P 0122 TPS Questions

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to try FE04's DigiMeter test this evening to see what voltage is actually coming out of the TPS and also inspect the wiring. ToddZ, thanks for the offer, but I'll pick one up locally tomorrow if I need to replace. I don't want to drive it too much on...

    P 0122 TPS Questions

FE04...That sounds like a pretty easy test of the sensor. You are correct, I found it at another retailer for about $65.

    P 0122 TPS Questions

I suddenly had a check engine light when going out after having moved the ST a little earlier in the driveway. I now have some hard shifting in the automatic tranny, which I hope is because the TPS is whacked.

    P 0122 TPS Questions

I had a check engine light last evening, so I had it scanned. Should I just go ahead and replace the sensor or is the troubleshooting worthwhile? My local AZone expert couldn't find such a device in his database, so is it a Dealer only item? Anything special I should look for or...

    Mystery Hose

Thanks for all the great replies! I found the spot, just like you guys said, in front of the spare at the frame rail. There is a little plastic 'cradle' and a couple of holes for zip ties or whatever. There was a piece of electrical-type tape around my hose and I was unable to find any filter...

    Mystery Hose

Ok, so the dangly end gets left open and attached above the spare to the frame. I didn't see a do-dad, so maybe that is still up there. I'll drop the spare tomorrow and give it a look-see. Thanks for the help!

    Mystery Hose

Thanks! So, if this has been off, is there any worry about contamination in the diff?

    Mystery Hose

OK, so I'm looking out at my Trac in the driveway and I see something dangling by the spare tire. Upon further inspection, it is a rubber hose. So, I crawl under and discover that this hose is attached to the driver side axel, just inside from the springs. Obviously, the other end is...

    Stalling in Reverse

Thanks for the info. I kind of thought it could be something simple, but since my dealer has been 'diagnosing' it for the past 6 hours, I'm beginning to wonder?!?!?! Whatever the conclusion, it'll be covered under my extended warranty. tmatt.

    Stalling in Reverse

Long time lurker.... I have a 2004 2wd Sport Trac. Today, after a 45 min drive I arrive at my friends house to pickup my boat. I try to backup and boom....Sputter and stall. Try again...same thing. ST drives fine in D. So, I restart and goose it in R a little and finally get the...
