    Lurch when shifting to/from Reverse

Ha yea just a bunch of bolts around the perimeter and it drops straight down. Make sure you don't tighten them too much or the gasket will leak. It's a good idea to replace the filter if you haven't, and the gasket while you're in there.

    HID Question

Here are some more pics for reference. The first pic is above the cutoff line, what drivers will see with OEM quality projectors. The second is below the cutoff line, or what all other drivers see when a HID kit is used, without a projector. <a...

    HID Question

To be honest, I don't even know how ballasts/ignitors work, I just know they're needed. 4700K (sometimes called 5000K) produces the white light found on all OEM vehicles. It's very white, and provides the highest amount of light output. As you increase temp, color turns from blu to purple...

    New Headlights - HID Retrofit

Thanks all KL, I'm not sure where you could put a whole new headlight housing to fit good HID projectors, without putting them into the stock housings. Whatever you do, please don't consider the cheap HID kits that are a direct plug-n-play to the stock housings. Yes, it will be...

    Lurch when shifting to/from Reverse

Not difficult, just messy. Make sure you place a large pan underneath (like 3' x 3' or so) and cleanup isn't too bad. I used rubber washers in addition to the nylon ones that came with the plug, a lot of people have slow leaks using just the nylon ones.

    Lurch when shifting to/from Reverse

Thanks for the reply Todd. I did a pan drop last week, so about half my fluid is new. I added the drain plug so I could just drain it and refill with fluid during oil changes, but maybe I should just do it another time or 2 over the next few weeks. I do believe it got better after the pan...

    Lurch when shifting to/from Reverse

Every now and then I notice that when I shift either to or from reverse in my trac the shift is a little rough. I haven't been able to find any info on this...Is it a common issue? Is it something that I should be worrying about? The transmission seems to shift great on it's own when driving...

    New Headlights - HID Retrofit

Just thought I'd share some pix of the HID retrofit I just finished on my '04 Adrenaline. Unfortunatly it was a very lengthy process which I was trying to get done quickly, so I didn't take pictures along the way to make a project for it. Components: -Acura TL Bixenon projectors w/...

    Shocks or not?

my trac has very responsive steering (compared to stock) with reflexes, but I still have the same problem around corners at speed.

From a recent grad with a massive amount of student loan debt...They may not realize it, but you've made their lives exponentially easier post graduation. Good for you!

    Shocks or not?

I've got stiff shocks (reflexes) and the Explorer Express rear sway bar as my only suspension mods, and my truck does this too. If you hit bumps on a curve (especially at highway speeds) you never really know where your trac is going to end up. Only advice I can give is go slower and avoid the...

Gun owners / Enthusiasts EDIT: Purchase made... Pics !!

Go for it Todd...Haven't tried one myself but I hear great things. I agree 100% that not everyone has the common sense or is responsible enough to carry. I also believe that the vast majority of people that carry would not whip out their firearm until the absolute last resort. Every...

Cleaning Inside of '04 Adrenaline Rims

I'm going to be buying new tires soon, and I want to get rid of the pitting on the inside of my rims. They are chrome on the outside, but look like aluminum on the inside. They've been badly neglected, but the chrome on the outside still looks great (after hours of scrubbing brake dust off)...

    Just Lubed Slip Yoke

yea, that makes sense. I marked the drive shaft and where it connects near the rear diff, but had heard that there was a double spline up front so that the slip yoke would only go in one way, which wasn't the case. lesson learned, thanks all.

    Just Lubed Slip Yoke

I'm not sure what you mean Bill...if I rotated the shaft 1 spline at the slip yoke, they would no longer be in phase. By in phase, I mean the shaft should look like this ]----------[ right?

    Just Lubed Slip Yoke

Thanks for the replies L1 and BIll. I just took it for a test drive and didn't notice any vibrations other than normal road surface up to 80 mph, but just for my reference, are the joints on these shafts supposed to be "in phase"? In other words, if I was experiencing vibration, would a 180...
