Can we talk "roll bars"? (i.e., sport bars)

IMO, it's really not feasible as the roof rails can hold a rack and you can install lights on the rack. Lights that far back are great for long range and can be really bright, which won't reflect down onto the dashboard. As far as a cool factor, really cool to put a CB antenna on and some...

    Water leak ??

You can get clear windshield sealant/silicon at your local auto parts store. Look for body seams that are cracked, roof rack bolts can leak, sunroof seals (if equipped), and the 3rd brake light assembly. Remember, we have a double sheet roof so leaking from the 3rd brake like can easily travel...

    Body Lift Questions & Concerns

I feel suspension lifts are better as you are lifting the frame higher for ground clearance. Yes, larger tires give ground clearance as well, but body lifts don't. I plan on doing the TT and 2" shackle with 275/75R16s which is a 32.24" tire. On a side note... what size tire did your truck...

    TPMS driving me crazy

Did you go back to Discount and ask them to inspect it? It could be bad parts from them. If they say you should by Ford parts, then ask them why they didn't put in Ford parts.

    Oil Leak onto Exhaust

Get some engine degreaser and go to the local self-carwash and clean the crap out of the undercarriage. If you are going to be spraying from the topside of the engine compartment, be careful where you spray. If you accidently spray ignition parts you may not be able to restart the truck for a...

    Body Lift Questions & Concerns

Welcome to the site. You need to look at what all comes with the kit. Does it have Grade 5 or 8 hardware? Some will allow you to download installation instructions. If you look at the footnotes, these will be things that you need to know...

DVDSWAN 02 Sport Trac Build/Maintenance thread

Today, drove down to Portland to pick up a factory bed cover and bed divider for the truck. Turns out I picked up a bike rack as well. All FREE!!! Well, 80.00 for gas, so good purchase anyway. Thank you Steve. So do the 2 handles go next to the cab?

    Roof trim pieces

It's not that much work, per se. The Ranger is just a regular cab. I've replaced the 60/40 bench with buckets and a console. To get the carpet out is just a matter of removing the seats/console, seat belts, and trim panels. If you read the thread posted about the wet headliner, the carpet...

    Roof trim pieces

I know it's not a Explorer but when I repaired my water leaks on my 91 Ranger, the moldings were generally held on by metal clips attached to the body moldings. Maybe a screw or two that you would see. I ripped the complete interior out to dry it. Do be careful as the plastic tab that the...

95-00 explorers might fit. At least very close. I would try and find an undamaged seat cushion as well just like @SwapTrac mentioned.

DVDSWAN 02 Sport Trac Build/Maintenance thread

So, today I replaced the one broken and one damaged fog lights. To start of I needed to remove the splash shield, 3 Philips head screws (2 facing the tire) and 1 facing straight up at the bottom corner by the tire. Then there are 2 plastic body clips that attach to the top part of the...

Nicely done. Too bad you're on the other coast. I would have taken the factory one off your hands.

    Inconsistent front end noise

It wouldn't hurt to take off the wheel and inspect all the parts to make sure they're not loose as well. Since it sounds speed related, I would check the 1/2 shaft tripot joints and front driveline for slop in the u-joints.

    Water from exhaust?

99% of the time it is just condensation being vented while the engine is running.
