Solved - Blend Door Actuator Not Working When Replaced

Hard to see the forest for all the trees in the way sometimes. Had a 67 IH Scout 4X4, base 152ci 4 cyl w/o ac. Knob on the dash marked F for fan would turn to activate the fan and was always on in south Arizona. I went north to work a seasonal job and couldn’t find a heat setting. After a couple...

What did you do to your Sport Trac today?

I first used the tie downs about 5 years ago. A queen size mattress in the cardboard box fits nicely on top of the bed cover.

    Intake Gaskets Replacement Findings

Waiting to find how it works for you. I suffer low idle in colder weather and idle adjustments haven’t made a difference. It seems like a simple and relatively inexpensive fix.

I installed a BOSS with backup cam from Cruthfield. The website provides fitment for various models along with the appropriate mounting hardware and wiring harness. Another good source is YouTube video.

What did you do to your Sport Trac today?

My 2004 had a rubber grommet on the driver side storage compartment behind the rear seat that I poked a hole through to run the rear view camera wire. I ran the wire from the front to back and spliced into the left rear backup light wire for power to the camera.

The local pick n pull parts yard is the best bet for rare parts and keep checking eBay as well. Welcome!

My new to me sport trac

My springs were shot and I think that contributed to some of my front end and alignment issues which haven't resurfaced since the replacement. But I brought a lot of that on myself. For the first 100K miles I drove it like I stole it.

    03 Rear window

I don't think bypassing the switch would throw an error but I'd be more concerned about the motor being capable of more than two positions.

    03 Rear window

Time for a trip to the nearest pick-n-pull salvage yard to retrieve another one.

    03 Evap issues

Maybe start with the cheapest solution trimming or replacing a possibly clogged vent hose.

    03 Rear window

I’m guessing that the motor only has two positions and the OBC receives one of two signals from the button, either push or twist, then telling the motor what action to take. It logically follows if window’s up, push = short turn down and twist is all the way down. And vice versa. But I’m just a...

    03 Evap issues

Where’s the gas spewing from, the filler neck? The only 0442 I have had is the gas cap not sealing b/c it’s a closed system. Is the filler tube cracked somewhere?

    03 Rear window

Inasmuch as the rear window motor must be synced with the OBC by a routine performed with the ignition switch (when the motor is replaced or becomes un synchronized) I’m thinking that would be a bridge too far.

My new to me sport trac

SD Truck Springs was my source, what a shame they folded. I’d asked them some years back for a thicker rear stabilizer bar to mitigate the roll and slide from the back when cornering but it was not to be. The rear roll was actually dampened by new lift keys on the torsion bars to level front...
