help with '01 grand marquis keyless entry.

You can't actually change the code, it's hard-coded. You can add at least one though.

Sounds about right. Is around $9/qt around my area. Siphon is siphon, the hard part is getting it started. A small hand pump can make it easier, you don't want that stuff in your mouth. To drop the pan and change the filter you will want a big catch pan, plenty of rags and paper towels, and a...

help with '01 grand marquis keyless entry.

If Ford cheaped out like they did with the Lincoln Town Cars then it will be on the DDM inside the driver's door. Edit: Yup. After a quick Google search, looks to be the case. Remove the driver door panel and the code should be on the DDM. Edit2: FORScan should also be able to grab it for you...

Should be MerconV, wait for confirmation or check your manual. Go buy a bottle of MerconV and see for yourself what it is supposed to look like. Take a sample from your truck and compare. You can siphon out as much as possible from the top and refill. Drive for a week or so to mix and repeat...

    Transmission info

The following is my opinion only... Before having some guy that "won't stand behind his work" poke and prod your transmission... Have you ever done any transmission service to it? Drop the pan, change the filter and gasket, refill. Yes, this only changes about 1/3 to 1/2 of the fluid. Then once...

    Misfire and no AC?

P0306 - misfire #6. B1318 - low battery voltage, had a Dodge Caravan that would do some wonky stuff if the battery voltage was low, things that I would never think a low battery would influence like running extremely poorly and intermitant operation of random things, it was a Dodge though so...

    2002 ST Codes P0401 & P0402 HELP PLEASE

In the projects section, I posted a howto on how to make a smoke machine for vacuum leak hunting. If you have the parts laying around it is simple and much safer than the flamable method. Helped me find a bunch of vacuum hoses that were shot and needed replacing. Give it a look.

OEM sticker still on engine at 150k miles?

Wouldn't see why not. My 01(j2) has a sticker on the valve cover that is in perfect condition still. Not as many miles as yours but i have owned it for about 16 years so i can pretty much guarantee it is original.

    Whomp whomp whomp sound

That's how I did it. Can't remember the numbers I used but it was something like 10-15ft lbs to set then loosen and retorque to something like 2-3ft lbs (really light). Most folks I spoke to said they do it by feel or... finger tight, then put your wrench at 12o'clock and then barely tight by...

    Whomp whomp whomp sound

No grinding. Everything sounds fine when making turns and normal driving around. I just replaced the bearings last year but I guess it would not hurt to give it a check. Doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate this weekend though. Just a strange sound when under certain...

Opinions about Cruise Control Replacement Switches

Went the cheap option many years ago. Still works fine and looks like new. Only small issue I have is the flexible plastic covers can be pulled off rather easily and are hard to snap back on unless you pull the airbag. Now I am mindful to take care that I don't get something caught on them as I...

    Whomp whomp whomp sound

Thanks for the suggestions folks. The body bushings are less than a year old but I will inspect them and check torque on them, and the lugs too, this weekend, weather permitting. It's about time to rotate the tires anyway, so might as well do that too. Have not hit anything. Need to take it to...

    Whomp whomp whomp sound

No springs in front so that's out. Shock bushings are good. Fender liners in good shape and not loose. Will be lubing the sway bar bushings this weekend. Don't think there is anything wrong with the bumper. How would I check the control arms? It is not that it bounces out of control or...

    Whomp whomp whomp sound

Unfortunately, that won't work (I tried). I can't get the front end bouncing enough to cause it. Go over the speed bump too fast or too slow and it won't happen. Have to go over it slowly but fast enough that the front end bounces two or three times (does that make sense?). It's not the shocks...

    Whomp whomp whomp sound

Got a noise I need help with... When I slowly go over things like speed bumps the front end makes a low "whomp whomp whomp" noise as the front bounces. Points of interest I should be looking into?

Aftermarket radio has power, all works but no sound.

C1095 ... rockauto has a repair/return service listed for the ABS control module ... about $300. If the PN is 7A2Z2C219E (which is also used on some Mercuries and f150s), ebay shows many listings (repair service, refurbished, used) at a range of prices. Junk yards are also an option. Found new...
