    hot computer

Aloha blert, Yes I understand that it is hard to diagnose what you can't touch. I appreciate you trying. I have reseated the memory twice. How can I test the power supply? Case off big fan and still crash. Where can I find the specs. I see a heatsink on the motherboard but don't see any way to...

Passenger door power lock intermittently works

With mine, I would start it, walk down and get the mail. When I got back the doors would be locked. After a couple of weeks of this, the battery died. I replaced it, problem solved!

    hot computer

blert, thanks, sorry, it is a heat sink paste nor dielectric. The heatsink and the CPU will only plug in one way on this. Idle CPU temp is 129. I removed the side cover and put a home fan blowing into the computer. No change in temperature. I don't know about overclocking but I reset the...

Max A/C recirculation door not functioning

I had an old Mercedes that required 92 octane, it ran poorly until It got on the hwy. A fellow at a refinery who did the blending said to run a half tank of 87 next fill up. the car ran fine after that. He said the premium gas didn't have a "good front end octane". 'hope that it works for you.

My A/C has a mind of its own.

My fix, I had trouble getting the clutch off so I sprayed some penetrating oil in the bolt hole too times. Two weeks now and it is still working.

Well ...a little over 307,000 miles on my 4.0L SOHC and I've gotten the infamous start-up chain rattle.

Aloha guys, I have been led to understand that these engines are not the valve hit the pistons kind. If the chain breaks, tow it home. I changed my hydraulic tensioners several times, cheep one's expensive ones Ford ones, no help. I spent $4500 having chains replaced ( also water pump and some...

My A/C has a mind of its own.

Rats, it isn't fixed yet! Yesterday, it quit on me. With the engine off and the key on, I hit it with a stick and the clutch engaged. Maybe I need to look at the spacers, dam. The relay is under the hood at the back of the relay box. There are two small relays. One is horn so you can tell which...

My A/C has a mind of its own.

Mine is working now! I had to wait for a hot day and go for a drive. What I did was replace the relay. Give this a try if the clutch adjustment doesn't help. Ed

    Temperature

I think that it is ok Blert, just watch it. Also watch the radiator level, after radiator replacement, I had to add 3/4 gal over a week's time to get it to show full. Ed

    Temperature

I think that it is responding to the 190F thermostat, what temp was in it before. I don't think that is high, just be aware if it starts to go up. Ed

My A/C has a mind of its own.

rd Mallory, when it quits, it still blows warm. Sounds like the clutch to me. I can't find where I ordered the relay from. I will just go to NAPA and get one. Greig, is there a min and max gap for the clutch? If I remove too many spacers will the clutch be always engaged or will it burn up?

My A/C has a mind of its own.

Mine is a 2002 2WD. If I slow down the compressor may not reengage. Then if I stop and start again it cools fine. I pulled the relay and sprayed it with electrical contact cleaner. "worked well for about 2 weeks then back to the old problems. I have ordered a new relay so we shall see. I hope...

    carbon build up

Aloha Eddie, Thought maybe there was some, and I didn't know it. The truck runs well other than the dry start in the morning. I always crank until there is oil pressure. Should I say about the carbon, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"? God bless thanks for your help Ed

    carbon build up

Hi folks, I am curious about carbon build-up in the 4.0 engine. I have a 2002 4.0 engine. I drive much a grandmother! The most driving I do is maybe 5 times a week about 5-8 miles from home. Sometimes I get up to 60-65 mph for a minute or two. The rest is all in-town driving and doesn't even get...

    Oil Change on Covid Schedule.

You folks are much better than me with the clean and lube, but I still change the oil and filter 2-3 K miles or 6 months whichever comes first. I like Dillard's idea of sucking out some transmission fluid with oil change and adding new. Some years ago I had a fellow clean off the underside...

2022 Ford Maverick revealed — hybrid pickup gets 37 mpg, costs $21,490

'looks good in blue, the pics I have seen were a bit tan and was not so much. The inside seems to be rather spartan also. I like my ST even though I have paid for it twice so far.
