sounds like a pats system, as blert mentioned the spare key is not programmed. cylinder lock will turn as it was cut to open the doors but will not start. i have two zip tied to underneath, but will not start the truck, just unlock in case i lose key, i have a programmed one hidden in the truck.

i have seen a few built ones but that one is a clean nice set up.

been looking for an extra set of egr for years, i have seen some in wrecking yards and wished i would have grabbed them but that is where i would suggest. keep an eye on u pull it, if you have them there ,they bring in new inventory with pics on their web site.

what one are you running and one would assume a one piece would be better as in less joints to fail. camo mentioned 2 failures so hopefully i only need to do it once. i have had zero issues with mine but it sounds like a ticking bomb and just been lucky. over the years you guys have mentioned...

ok after 18 years of the original with no issues you guys got me thinking i need to replace mine,, any preference on one and where to get it. and any and all that is related to replacing,,,thanks for the heads up.

quite a while back a member did a step by step breakdown of doing trim and bumpers with the products used, i have it saved but not good with attaching files, his profile was Tom R and it was in april 2018 i will try and post it, it was a great post.

Carl, thank you for the follow up and info,, it helps fellow trackers out.. there has been a few that i have seen that do not do follow ups,,,, way cool ya got it done and for so much less then a shop will charge just to look at it. There are a bunch of well informed members on here.

as he mentioned soap and water, i have used a scrub brush on mine, and light degreaser and once in awhile pressure washer and they look good still, detailing over the years i have never seen one break down from cleaning, its the heels that usually do them in, a wear spot where heel is over time.
