Hello - 2001 ST - Automatic My temperature gauge is hitting the roof. The coolant and resovoir level are good. No leaks are apparent - some smell of anti freeze though. Per the gauge - the engine gets to operating temperature - fffaaassstt! Then it creeps up pretty quickly...

Before I break it - I have a 2001 and I just want to remove the air filter cover. I see the two metal clips which hold it but after I loosen it it stays put. I dont want to force it - is there someting elese holding it in place. Or does it just require a good pull. Thanks.

I hear you. I can't imagine I'll ever buy another Ford either. They look great but....in the end it's gotta be reliable and well made.

Thanks - It doesn't sound like it's anything catastrpohic. Probably the alternator. I'll find out tomorrow.

I have a 2001 about 32,000mi. I first noticed the "battery light indicator" flickering a few days ago. I removed the battery and added water - it seemed low. After that the battery would not hold a charge at all!! It totally died. Jump started it - it would only hold a charge for a few minutes...
