...check &/or replace the 50 amp fuse under hood. If that doesn't work then clean the sensor (buds) that are on the spindles to remove all the brake dust,road grime build-up like I did to get mine working again. I had to remove my front rotors to access them.(pain in the ars).:supercool:

My Gen 1 did the same thing & I replaced to alternator TWICE...the second time it worked(first one was bought bad & thank god for warranties). As far as the clicking noise,the fan clutch does that when the heater is on & nothing can be done aboot that......hope that helps.:haveabeer:

We are taking the alternator back and having it checked again...the battery was at 12.7 it's a 12 volt battery. The clicking isn't happening anymore, but still wont stay started. :banghead:

Just took it back in and had it rechecked...battery is fine.

The alternator is brand new,not remanufactured...I CAN jump start the ST,but it still dies after short run time. After short run time the battery has enough juice to re-start if I turn it off before all power dies,but when ALL power dies the battery need to be re-jumped.

My '03 ST had the same problem & I found out by changing the vacuum elbow the stumbling stopped. The ST has a strong vacuum & my rubber elbows kept imploding. Look behin the alternator at the vacuum line when Ur ST is running & check the top elbow for softness or suction.:grin:

Hello everyone....I need some help. My battery light came on & my ST died after running only 5 minutes from cold engine. I changed the alternator because it checked out as bad & the battery tested fine. After I replaced the alternator it started a random clicking noise which makes my RPM's...

needed w/fog light holes...dude backed into my 03 Sport Trac & bent reinforcement,fog lights are cross-eyed !! I'm trying to go used & not new. :banghead:

having to keep replacing the cracked/softning PCV Valve...been an ongoing issue since I've had the ST....Thanks for the input.

Is there an aftermarket replacement setup for the continuous cracking/softning of the PCV elbow ??....$7.00 pc for part # 7001 @ Autozone isn't a bad price,but having to continually replace it enough times that I've got 3-4 extra's "in stock" is ridiculous. :angry:

Engines stumbles & dies when @ idle & stumbles & 2,500 RPM in park. No vacuum leak (changed elbow). !!!! HELP !!!!
