    Towing Mirrors

I'm wondering what works best for towing mirrors. The rubber band hang ons I do not like, too flimsy. What about slip on mirrors? E-trailer won't suggest anything for the explorer sportrac. I'm hoping the Forum can help. TIA!

I was one that assumed I had no trans dip stick due to the video's. Looking under the hood it was deceiving, it was there hidden under the top radiator hose. Not in plain sight.

Yes, a close up for now, till I take it off my lift.

    Front Hitch

Well, I did it, put a front hitch on my sportrac! I chose the Curt 31407 due to the easy install. It was quite simple. The load rating was less than others but I don't plan on pulling anything heavy or using a big winch.

    Brake controller

On my 04 Sportrac I found a plug behind the glove box for a brake controller I was told. Any recomandasions on a Brake controller that's plug and play? I realize I will have to run 2 wires to the 7 pin anyway.

    Air shocks

I will give it a look tomorrow, and think about where I'd put the valves, ect. I don't have sag in my springs on either side. Lucky maybe. Thank you sir!

    Air shocks

Ok, I put on air shocks, had to drop the spare tire out to do the job. My concern is running the air lines while the spare is already out of the way. The air fittings point to the rear [as the parts were labeled L and Right] I'm thinking up and over the spare or along the side of the spare. I...

    1st gen lift kits

I'm guessing that I don't want the airlines facing the spare, that could cause the air lines to be at a sharper angle as to possibly kink, and lowering the spare could be tricky.

    1st gen lift kits

Hi James, putting on the air shocks, I noticed the airline can point at the spare or away from the spare. I'm thinking they need to point away, but maybe there is a reason to point them at the spare. What you think?

    1st gen lift kits

Thank you Curtis! My Power Wagon has 31s and was thinking it would be nice for both trucks to have the same tire size. I didn't think about the fact, the reason I put 29s on the Ford was to lower the gear ratio slightly to make it more tow worthy! Well neither truck needs tires right now, so I...

    1st gen lift kits

I got to serious thinking, I do tow a small camper (18') and a 10' trailer with 2 full size touring bikes, and raising the center of gravity may not be a smart move on my part. There are lots of switchback roads out here, like 89A from Flagstaff to Sedona. Sure would "LOOK COOL" though!

I may be out of luck, 2004 could be different.
