    2002 Sport Trac RIP

Unfortunately, I just got rid of the rear brakes and hardware Sunday. I do still have the bed extender.

    2016 Edge 2.7 change Plugs

How difficult is it to get to the rear plugs? I’m ready to change.

    2002 Sport Trac RIP

I'll probably just turn it over to the tow lot to let them get rid of it. That is what my insurance company recommended. I put new tires on last summer!

    2002 Sport Trac RIP

I have new rear brake shoes, drums, and hardware sitting in the garage that I was going to put on this 2002. Anyone want that stuff? Useless to me now.....Grrrrr...... @DILLARD000, thank you so much for all of your expertise. You advised on many projects with this truck.

    2002 Sport Trac RIP

Oh, and by the way.....The woman that hit me had no registration and no insurance. They winched her car out of the ditch and she had them take it to the Kwik Trip where she paid them, they unloaded it, and she was on her way. Maybe to hit someone else??? When I was at the tow lot yesterday...

    2002 Sport Trac RIP

Thank you for all the well wishes. As far as another Sport Trac, all I see is worn out units. Could anyone have possibly taken care of theirs as well as I did??????? Moving on to a 2020 F-150.

    2002 Sport Trac RIP

Well, I guess all good things must come to an end. I was driving on I-94 yesterday in the middle lane, about 70 mph. It had not started snowing hard yet in Waukesha County, and the roads were just wet at 37 degrees. Next thing you know, I am sideways and hitting the concrete median wall head...

    Rear Brake Drum Stuck

I feel like it is the brake shoe that is stuck somehow. Spray that from the side?

    Rear Brake Drum Stuck

2002 Sport Track. Rear drum appears to be stuck to the brake shoes and will not come off. I can feel the springs as I pull out on the drum. It's not being held up by rust between the drum and hub. How do I get this thing off??

    Front Rotor Moves on Studs

Reporting back. Got to the bottom of this. Caliper pins were frozen in place, not allowing pads any movement whatsoever. I gave up trying to get them out of the bracket and picked up a new caliper bracket and pins. What do you use for lube on the pins? I used a synthetic grease when I...

    Front Rotor Moves on Studs

2002 Sport Trac, 225K. Recently, I noticed a "click" from the front left when braking. Upon inspection, the only thing I could find is that the brake rotor will pivot on the wheel studs, like the holes in the rotor are too big? I have 25K on this set of rotors (Bosch). Lug nuts are all...

    Fluid All Over Rear Brakes

Rotated the tires on my 2002 Sport Trac. Removed the rear drums for inspection, and notice grease or rear differential fluid all over. Axle seal?

    Mobil 1 Oil Change

I have 220K on my 2002 Sport Trac. I am very consistent with oil changes and tire rotations, every 3-5K depending if I use regular or synthetic oil. Usually buy whatever is the best value with a rebate. Tensioners have been replaced. My question: I bought some Mobil 1 with an attractive...

    4x4 Again

Interesting. I contacted Dorman tech-support, to maybe get an idea of what is going wrong with these transfer case motors. They asked me for my build date. It is 5/02. He said that they do not offer a transfer case motor for that year of sport Trac. I have a round plug, so I have been buying the...

    4x4 Again

Quick question: When you are replacing these Transfer Case Motors, do you apply any gasket material?

    4x4 Again

Update: I installed a new Dorman Transfer Case Motor this afternoon and now the 4x4 works great. Besides the original, this is the 3rd one I've put in. 2nd in the last 6 months! What could be going wrong with these units? I checked and cleaned all of the electrical connections before...
