I have same truck - been using a product called Solutions Finish - got it on Amazon and it really worked … needs reapplied every 4 - 6 months here in Florida

I'd like to replace and upgrade the Valve Covers on my 2004 XLT 4.0 ... what are the right choices to look at ? Are there aluminum Valve Covers and are they worth hassle/cost ?

The compressor doesn't run when selector is in OFF position ... it runs in every other setting .. FLOOR, BOTH, DASH, BOTH A/C settings

That's exactly what mine is doing but it seems to contradict the manual ??

I’m going listen with a stethoscope tomorrow on everything Absolutely correct ... sprayed some Yamalube protectant/Lubricant on bearing area and noise is gone for noe ... probably should replace alternator

I'm getting a whining/whirring noise under the hood and it varies with speed ... the cooling fan seems ok so should I be thinking Tensioner, A/C bearings, Alternator bearings ... aby idea's ??

My A/C Compressor is Engaged Regardless of Setting on A/C Switch ... the switch on the right side of manual A/C control panel... I caan't just run fan to circulate air without the A/C compressor engaging ! What should I start checking ?
