00 Sierra 4.3 Starting Problem

My friend has a 2000 GMC wont start. Began to run rough about 4 months ago, has sat for 2 months now, went to start the other day, and it wouldnt. Tried next morning, started right up. FIgured it was a distibutor problem. Replaced cap and rotor, will turn over but wont fire. HAs spark, took wire out and put new plug in to test. Power going to plug. Wonder if its not getting any fuel? Possibly fuel pump or pressure regulator.

Sounds as if it is posibly a fuel issue...but need to find a code reader and see what you get...there is so many things, on these modern engines...even if you have fuel and spark, that can go wrong....

My brother just spent $1300 on his '94, 4.3L at a repair shop...he had 250K miles on it...also had been running rough for awhile..
