I've done my search on this and couldn't quite find what I was looking for. A few short questions. The sub is a 6" sub from screw hole to screw hole. Would that be considered as a mid-sub? Also if I drop a different 6" and a new amp in the oem box would it sound bad? I don't want to spend a lot of money but the sub that's in there now has no punch what so ever. I also don't want a bunch of bass but something that hits tight and makes the system sound a little better. Thanks

I have a 8" sub back in that space. (from JDBoxes) Sealed inclosure and it sounds great. (I also have a 10" on the back seat since I do like bass) Without the 10", it gives the bass "hit" (enough to move the Rearview mirror) and alittle bass overall to the music.;)

Thanks for the reply. I was looking at those boxes and that may be the other way I'd go. But on the other hand, it would be a lot of work for one 8" sub. I was doing some looking on the net and found some 6.5" subs with RMS of 150 and peak of 300 watts. Does anyone know what the factory amp puts out for watts? I'm not sure what I really want to do yet.

I found a box with two 8's a 600W amp and wiring kit with shipping for $117. I know it's not the best but it should be ok for what I need.

Here's another question that someone might be able to answare.

The wiring harness that goes to the factory amp has 5 wires. I beleive that 4 of them are from the rear speakers. The other one has 12v when I turn on the radio. Would I be able to use that as the remote turn on for the new amp or do I still need to run a new one from the back of the HU? Does the normal remote turn on wire usually have 12v or 5v? Thanks ya'll
