'07 Gas filler question

Questuion for '07 owners... When you remove your gas cap, is there a little spring loaded flap the covers the fill tube?? On mine once I remove the gas cap, there is just a hole there that looks down into the fill tube. It would be like the flap that closes on this cap pictured below from a couple of days ago. Every other vehicle I have ever driven/owned has had this flap, but my '07 does not. Do I need to bring this up tot he dealer, or is that the way it is supposed to be?

I haven't seen the 07, but that is a required part...

I have a 07 Trac and a 06 Lincoln Zephyr neither have the flap. Also my buddies 07 GT is the same too.

It appears that the little flap was costing Ford too much money to include on all Sport Trac, so it was converted to a $500 option. I think they assumed that anyone so anal as to worry about it would be willing to pay the extra cost to have one installed by their dealer for the nominal fee. :lol: :lol: :lol:
