Does anyone else get the feeling that they are going to fold the hood in half when closing it?? When I grab mine to close it, if you look just above the hinge mounting point, I can see it flexing before it starts to move down. I just have this feeling that I am going to turn my hood into a blue taco shell... The first time I opened it I thought it was a fiberglass hood as it felt pretty light/flimsy...

I never noticed this. I will look next time. I think the hood shuts very solid.



When taking my tour at the Louisville plant, seeing the guys at the plant take a mallet to the hood striker to correct a hood alignment, it wouldn't surprise me that the hoods might not be right.

I had a Mazda B-4000 that suffered really bad hail damage on the hood. Body shop said the hood is aluminum and they just replace them because dents of much size cannot be fixed easily. It was very obvious that the hail beat the hell out of the hood, but hardly dented the roof or fenders.
