07 trany hangs in park

I have an 07 LTD 4.6 and lately I've been having trouble with the trany locking in park after engine is started. Has anybody else had a similar problem? If so was it electrical or mechanical?

Check the brake interlock (must depress brake pedal to shift).

take it to your dealership you need new shifter seen alot of those. the v8 6 spd auto trannys have probs with the shifter. they got a updated one thatll take care of it shold be under warranty. hope this helps.

Thanks to *Mookie* and Ford mech for your replies. I think I'll go with Ford mech and maybe I can get a V8 emblem for my left front at the same time. I think I may have the only '07 ST 4.6 with only 1 V8 emblem in existance.
