my 2-3 has gotten worse in the last 500 miles

60,650 on the truck now and i had the T-teck flush at

60,100.

i back off the throttle to let it shift with out over slipping

and causing more damage.

so i have 2 questions

#1 after the t-teck should i have reset the computer?

fresh fluid possibly change shift points?

#2 i know there is a valve body and solinoid repair

what exactly do i ask for at the trans shop and what

does this repair ussually cost?

figures, i mailed the payoff out end of last month

3.5 years early and it looks like im still going to be

making payments on it.

When the issue reared it's ugly head, you should have gotten it looked at. I would be willing to guess a full rebuild is now in order.

TJR,

On the other side, if you read his post., this tells me that the tranny flush was done in hopes of eliminating a problem...

60,650

- 600

----------

60,050 miles.

At 60,100 he had the tranny flushed. I see it as the problem started 50 miles before the flush was performed.

That is what I read, your interpretation will vary, depending on who is commenting.

I do not think many of them changed the fluid regular enough. I change my fluid once a year. So far, so good.

A guy at work has a 1999 Explorer. His fluid gets changed every other year. He has over 170,000 miles on his. No tranny problems.

I am going to try sucking out .5 of a quart and add a quart of Lucas transmission rebuild I am herring this may add 15 thousand miles …

Instead of doing a tranny flush...

Any thoughts

My trac is not slipping yet but it is getting close to the 60 thousand mile mark...

sorry i hit 6 instead of 5 should read last 500 miles.

it would occasionally rear its ugly head

usually on a real cold morning wasnt that bad

and since i expected it would let off throttle

as it would shift from 2-3 after warm it would not

do it and would not do it on way home from work in PM.

since the flush it is more often but as i said i

DO NOT LET IT SLIP as in keep my foot in it

i allow the truck to shift itself then hit the gas again

so it has not slipped enough in my opinion to have burnt

the clutch pack.

so what exactly do i ask for when i take it to the shop

in regards to the valve body and solinoid pack?

and what is the average price to do this job?

thanks and sorry for the mix up in first post which has been

fixed

Because of the slipping you are getting, 99% sure you are going to need a full rebuild. When you first got the slip, then is when you should have had the solenoid packs replaced.

I am 99% sure your tranny needs more than a band-aid.

That is essentially what you are asking about. Odds are, the clutches are now worn to the point they need to be replaced.

What fluid was used at this flush ??? MervonV from the dealer or some universal fluid or additives ???

The part is the valve body spacer plate and gasket. The total job is around 300-400 installed..

well if it needs more than a band aid then so be it

i guess i will have to use the warranty i bought

with the $100 deductable.

by the way when i took the truck out this am it did not do it

at all, temps were in the high 40s here in NJ

Todd,

not sure what fluid was used and will ask them

on monday as they are right across the street

from where i work.

my brother has always had his truck done there and

never had any problems with their T-Tech flush job.

and thanks for the actual answer to my original question.

I hope the T-Tech flush wasnt jiffy lube.

If you still have the warranty, I see no problem. $100 is cheap for a new trans.

i have another 18 months left on the warranty.

i just find it strange that it only does it below

a certain temp and then after its warm stops.
