2002 Coolant Leak

Got under our Sport Trac (4.0) to change the oil today and noticed a bunch of coolant all over the lower cross member and on the floor in front of the truck. Reservoir is still relatively full. Can't see exactly where it is leaking. Where should I start?

Lower thermostat housing is by far the most common failure with the 4.0L SOHC cooling system. Use a small mirror and flashlight to inspect the rear of the housing. If no leak found, rent a cooling system pressure test kit available at most larger auto parts stores with a fully refundable deposit. Call around.

That or the water pump, or a hose.... But have to look around....

After all of my angst, it ended up being a small leak in the lower radiator hose. What a PITA to access!
