2003 ST Center Console rattle

My 2003 ST center console has a rattle. It appears to be where the top half and bottom half of the console are put together where the cup holders are. Has anyone taken the console apart and if so, how do you do it. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, what is a good fix?

my 05 rattles too....it's just the way they are built i guess, they just start to sqeak all over. i just play my music really loud to drown out the small sqeauls that bug me so much...



than being said, you could have something lose in there, and it's really easy to remove it - just pull on it and it'll just come right out. i pulled mine out to run the ipod wire into the armrest and to paint it, and it goes back in just as easily.

Dewayne... Just lift up on the console... It is just clipped in. Then you can tighen whatever u want.

Mine has a squeak from the plastic-on-plastic construction. Later this summer, when I have a little more time, I am going to line the lip of the botton half with self-stick felt from a craft store.

My console was a piece of crap, (2002) I ordered a different one from the JC Whitney catalog and replaced it. Much happier with the new one. It only took about 10 minutes to pull the factory one out.

My '03 console is rattle/noise free.

No issues with my '02 either. Looks good and is noise free.
