Most of us know DCX products are garabage. Atleast my wifes Jeep Liberty is. But take a look at what this guy did:

Forget about AskDr.Z.com. William Bailey took his beef with Chrysler straight to the automaker when he drove his 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck from his Blountsville, Ala., home to DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler Group's headquarters in Auburn Hills. Bailey mounted a "Dodge Lemon Made" sign on his truck -- which he uses for work to haul trailers -- and circled on public roads near the automaker's building because he said the company sold him a lemon. Bailey said his fan clutch exploded on April 11 and that despite a 100,000 miles bumper-to- bumper warranty that expired last month, he's paid several thousands in repair.

Is that the whole story or is my page not finishing loading?

Looks like it is the whole story. Sounds like he bought a extended warranty on it, if the coverage was up to 100,000 miles. If the fan clutch is the worst of his problems, doesn't sound so bad.

I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Very nice vehicle, but there was no quality whatsoever. Especially the drivetrain.

My cousin got a new Dodge 2500 diesel 4x4 a few years ago, he got a second new one under PA's Lemon Law in less than a year.

On the other hand I know people with Dodges who love 'em and never have any problems.

Our Plymouth Voyage mini-van would have qualified for the PA Lemon Law. It had a some kind of a serpentine belt and pulley issue that caused a chronic series or interrelated problems from the first year through the last year we owned it, causing over 1000s in repairs.

I had a 98 Dodge Intrepid with the infamous 2.7 motor that cooked the oil. Will never buy a dodge again.

I had a 82 Dodge Mini-Ram (Pre-Caravan) as my first vehicle. Beside being VERY TOUGH on drums, rotors, brake pads, pistons, calipers, CV joints it was actually a very good vehicle. Though a 4 cyl. mini-van in So Cal is not a bright idea (think 55 mph downhill with a good tailwind).

My wife's family has had nothing but DCX products until just recently:

1990 Spirit (Tranny died)

1992 Dynasty (Replaced Engine, Replaced Tranny)

1976 Ram Truck (still runs with 67,000 origional miles)

1992 Talon (Tranny died)

1997 Intrepid (a few small issues)

1996 Ram Full Size Van (replaced all injectors, several other engine parts)

2002 Durango (bought on repo. lots of work done. Driver window still doesn't go down)

Oddly, all but (1) of these vehicles are still at their house (the spirit was left with a charity in Tulsa when it died on my wife when we lived there). In addition to these, they also now have a 1996 Saturn SL2.

I think I may have converted them to Ford though. My father-in-law drove my ST while my wife and I were on vacation. He loved it. Both my brother-in-laws now own Ford as well (2004 Explorer EB and 2006 Focus).
