i was hoping someone would be able to confirm this - will 2005 Mustang 17" OEM wheels fit an 03 ST? The Mustang wheels are 17X8 ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT FORD MUSTANG 2005 GT WHEELS BOLT PATTERN 5X41/2 OFFSET 45MM

I believe I would need spacers, but aside from that is there any reason why they wouldn't fit? If so what size tire should I look for? I want something with an semi-agressive tread and raised white letters on the side wall. any help would be appreciated

No, the offset is too high. The '04 and below Mustang wheels will fit with +29mm offset I believe. I have them from an '04 and they fit great.

I heard the same thing about the spacers. I was interested in installing the standard ford explorer wheels (with 44MM off set and P245/65/R17 tire size) and Michelle from this form said it worked for her application. She just needed 1.5" spacers for the front and 2" spacers for the rear (bolt pattern is the same) and it fixed the clearance issue. just wanted to know if anyone would agree/disagree with this logic before i bit on these 2005 Mustang wheels on ebay.

I wouldn't disagree with the logic, as the logic is sound. I'm not a huge fan of spacers in those thicknesses, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Mustang rims generally have more positive offset than Ranger/Explorer wheels (they tuck the wheel/tire closer to the body) and some will not clear the grease cap on the front. This can be solved with a spacer or a little hammer work on the grease cap.
