Greetings All,

New to forum and can't find a solution to my problem. Just got a new 2007 Sport Trac and am ready to install my aftermarket sound! I want to mount my amp on the back wall or floor under rear seat, but my big problem is the sub location. I think the factory location is in storage compartment in back wall behind 40 seat, this would be perfect for my 10" sub, but I can't find anything online about how to do it. How to seal, reinforce, mount, etc. Can I use stock mounting parts and where to buy. I don't like the custom boxes under the rear seat, looks goofy and is in the way! Would love any pics, help or info.

Nick, I am interested in just the same problem. That box is in a very good spot for a lot of things,,,,,,,including that amp, if you decide on another location for the sub.

JD built my box for my '07. I put the amps under the 60% side of the seat, and the storage compartment holds my CD changer/distrubution block/cap... No modification of the back wall was needed for the speaker in this location. It is however a shallow mount 10"... Shakes the mirrors but not overly boomy... Fills in the sounds nicely. My doore speakers (Polk DX7's) are amplified as well. Alpine 4 channel, and Alpine mono amp in use, AVIC Z1 in the dash.

Thanks. There are pics in my library of the box before I covered it. You can get a better idea of the depth that Jacob had to work with there to get the correct airspace for that speaker from the side view of the box. The layout/wiring in the truck took about a day. The wiring to the door speakers is concealed within the boots going to each door. There are also detailed pic of how I had to run the wires through those boots for the rear door especially. Took a bit of thinking on how to do it the best way... The system preforms flawlessly. IT hink it has just enough bass. Much more and the wife would complain. If I am listening to a CD though I need to turn it down a couple clicks to keep her happy though... XM/Hard Drive/FM are all about equal..
