2007 Transmission problems comming soon !!

I just dropped off my 2001 Sport Trac at the FoMoCo dealer to repair the transmission that has only 53k on it. The transmission was flushed at 20k and 35k by Ford, but I now have the 2nd to 3rd gear flair that many others had. Hopefully It will not need to be totally rebuilt !

The Ford dealer has 1 other Explorer to repair before he get to mine. That being a 2006 with the V-8 and 6 Speed transmission !! The service manager told me that this is their 2nd 6 speed and they are haveing the same problems as our 5 speeds !!!!!!!!

There are mods that we can do to our transmissions that can take care of this!!

It's no suprise to me since the 5R55E 5 speed is the same as the 4 speed transmission except with an extra gear, and that transmission had the same problems. The only added a sensor to the 5 speed to trigger an error when the 2-3 shift flair occured. No doubt the new 6 speed automatic is a carryover of the same design as the 4 speed and the 5 speed.
