2010 Adrenalin running-board

I have something stuck under the rubber step insert of a 2010 Adrenalin running board.
Probably just a rock but it is pushing the rubber up a good 1/2 in. How do you take the insert off the board ? Screws or pins or ? Cant find info anywhere.Thanks

its clips... have to lightly lift.... Some can break depending on age....

Any idea of what tool to use so as to reduce breaking something ?

sorry no... can you look from underneath and see the clips, then just squeeze ?
