You're probably correct. The Sport Trac is certainly a much simpler truck than the Maverick or any vehicle put out today. I like simple, I can work on "simple." The '00s might be the last truly roll-up your sleeves and do it yourself era of vehicals out there. So if you think having a PCM and dash cluster circuit board are problematic electronic components, wait until you see what's on the current batch of trucks, SUVs, and cars. Cars and trucks coming out today really are throwaway products. After they're out of warranty, they will slowly become a nightmare to own. But that's the market the Maverick is targetting. 20-something urban or suburban dwellers who want a cheap truck so they can occasionally haul stuff. After their loan is paid off, they'll trade it in on a new car loan.
