Somebody please shoot me!! Started up the ST this morning. It's an 01.

The check engine light came on a couple days ago and the codes are 2 lean codes. Found that on here but I dont have the elbow ( guess its a job1?).

Today it started and idles at 3500 rpm. I can't get it to lower. Cleaned IAC and throttlebody with no change.

I know you guys on here have a fix for this because you always do.

You have a vaccum leak somewhere..Do a search you will find many ideas as to where to start looking...:D

My guess is a cracked vacuum line or a bad intake gasket...

Can use the carb cleaner testing procedure or the propane test...

I have searched but can't find the propane test you recommended. I saw mention of it in earlier posts about the lean condition but unable to find out exactly how to do this.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

i had the same with my '01. yes, it was vacuum leak and it cost me around $50 (something like that) to buy the replacing part but i dont remember how much my total spending was. after replacing the vacuum line, the truck runs like it was before :)
