The v6 and v8 are the same engine, the major difference is intake routing, and some accessory mounting.... But the blocks and heads are exactly the same..

I think that the mustang and the sport trac 4.0 are the same engine everything i have seen leads me to believe this. but like Todd said the intake and accesories are different. But if they are the same that would open a world of aftermarket to us.

The mustang has drive by wire. I'm not sure if the new ST has it. There are now parts on the market for us because of the stang. The underdrive pulley was first. I've also seen cylinder heads in the marketplace. We should all thank the 4.0 Mustang. i know I have.

Toddz, are you saying the 4.6 V8 block is the same as in the Stang? I thought the Trac used an iron block whereas the Mustang's is aluminum...
