4.10 or 3.73?

ok what gear do i get i plan on lifting and bigger tires, but i still need to tow a boat. any help will be great.

4.10 will give you better off the line power. I would think going with larger tires and wanting to tow a boat that the 4.10 would be better for you than the 3.73's.

I would go with the 4.10 regardless if you plan on towing or not.



I have had two Sport Trac's, a 2001 with a 3.73 and now I have a 2003 with a 4.10. Throttle response and pickup is noticably better with the 4.10 but overall gas mileage is nearly identical at about 20 MPG on the highway and about 16-17 MPG in the city (I don't live in a big city so my city driving is more like suburban driving. )



Also, if you have the 4.1o and need to tow something, you will have a better axle ratio.
