Im trying to get rid of a broken 42" gateway plasma tv, the screen is intact, something internal is not letting the tv turn on, when you push the power button, nothing happens. I believe its a 42", not shure the proper method of measuring a tv screen. Someone with the right know-how could make a killing, i opened it up once hoping to find a blown fuse or something simple, no such luck. I don't have the electrical base to troubleshoot this. Only looking to get about 400-500 for it. lemme know.

Was it not under warranty? Did you buy it new or used? Did the problem just happen suddenly or over a period of time? What did Gateway say the problem could be?

I may be interested.

We are all curious about this tv. Why have you not had a technician look at it, could be a very simple fix? Of course it could be fried as well. LOL

Sorry for the long time from responses. I actually forgot i posted this here and only found it while looking through the boards for some seats. I could get pics uploaded tomorow. The tv turned off while in use, and will not turn back on. there is a green light that comes on near the power button when plugged in. when plugging it in, you can hear a relay, or something that sounds just like a relay clicking over "click".I recieved the tv as a gift for helping someone move, i knew it was broke when they gave it to me, I was hoping i could fix it. It had a warranty, but it expired. It was bought new by the people who gave it to me. I first took it apart. looked it over, found a blown fuse, thought i was the luckiest guy in world. replaced fuse, put back together, still did not power up. took apart again, fuse was in good condition still, didnt blow a second time. couldnt find any other blown fuses, broken wires, burnt spots, etc so i gave up. went to the local tv rpair place. they wanted 300 dollars, non refundable just to inspect because " plasma tvs are difficult to diagnose" i dont want to give someone 300 dollars only for them to tell me its still broken...... Anyone still interested, or know where i could get wiring schematics for the tv to attemtp to further troubleshoot it?

Thakns in advance, sorry for the long post.
