Does anyone know the force it takes to manually engage 4x4H with out the shift motor installed.

I cant see it being a lot since the motor is basically a window motor on the T-case....

I agree but I can't move the shaft to 4lo by hand, and I was just wondering if from 2wd to 4hi would/should be the same.

To go into 4Low you need the truck in neutral, the truck in park will lock the gears and you will not be able to move it...
Its the same as if it was running and the motor was fine..

The shift motor works fine. Will move to 4h/4lo and all lights work as designed, also 4lo does engage. I have pulled the shift motor, the shift arm is set to 2h, but the truck is still in 4h. I can manually, with fore finger and thumb, move the shift arm to 4h with little to no effort, from 4h to 4lo have to use a tool. I am thinking the shift arm has broken of a shift fork has come loose. Any thoughts?
