Don't think of it as a small car. Think of it as a really big motorcycle with two extra wheels. :rolleyes:

They are pretty popular as a commuter or grocery getter vehicle around here. I saw a video of them crashing into a cement wall at 120km/hour and it was still in one piece. In fact, they could even open the doors.

here's the vid --> http://www.metacafe.com/watch/60538/smart_car_crash/

Caymen - I was refering to the post above mine. I am sure many people in little sub-compacts think that people driving trucks and SUVs are idiots as well.

I want to see a video of them crashing a Smart car into the front of an F-350 with each vehicle running 65 MPH. I bet the F-350 gets driven away.

Few accidents involve a direct hit on a concrete wall.

Well considering I've never been hit head on by a F-350 (or any vehicle for that matter), I'd take my chances if only they'd offer vehicles like this for sale.

I wouldn't use this as my only mode of transportation, but it would be perfect for the daily commute to work.

Once they started taking over the roads, those minimal risks would become even smaller.

Olaf: hardly a day goes by that I don't see some yahoo driving a truck about 2 sizes too big for his/her abilities trying to park or drifting over into my lane, etc. The funniest ones are the ones in dually trucks with the rear fenders smashed in because they forgot their ass end is about 2 feet wider than the front and they tried going thru the drive thru at the local McD's! LOL

Not for us big guys ! I would rather just peddle my R1000 Cannondale at 17-20mph. No pollution and you keep in shape.

Oh, yes, Thanks for letting us know that Bush went to war for oil, because, WELL, the last time I filled up at $3.00 a gallon you would have never known that fact. ;)

OK so I hope you realize he has no point. Maybe one day he'll realize that as well.

Maybe someday you will learn to prepare for the worst. I don't care about getting hit by a luxury car. I fear a big truck. Those are the ones I am worried about.
