AC problem on wifes Explorer/Need opinions

My wifes Explorer had a leak in the bottom radiator hose. I changed it out, refilled the antifreeze and the truck ran fine. Now the AC has gone out. Would this be related to busted hose or am I right to assume that when them AC goes out it just happens without warning?

Not related UNLESS you broke the suction line to the AC compressor.
