I was checking out this project , which looks good but.....

I have a 2002 , I do not have a CD changer. My stereo has buttons for 'Shuffle' & 'Comp' , If I hit the CD button twice the display reads 'No DJ'.

I thought I read somewhere that is all these things are true , I can add one of these AUX units.

Does anyone know which one I need to buy??

Also, where does this thing end up being mounted in the project? it looks like it ends up under the console??

Any info would be greatly helpful.

Thanks

Jim

Jim:

I mounted mine under the console and ran an RCA (connected to AUX) to male 3.5mm cable out through a hole I drilled in the back of the change tray.

Logjam Electronics sells the whole line of auxiliary inputs. Check the series of your radio and match it to the unit. (I wish I could be of more help, but without seeing your unit's part number, I can't help much.)

I have a 2002 with stock radio and rear controls.

I used a USA Spec Aux Interface model DF-Ford 20. Per the instructions this fits all sport tracs 2001-2005 with CD Changer controls (shuffle button)

It uses the CD Changer feature and has RCA inputs for 2 separate devices. Got it at Crutchfield for $70. It seems to have taken care of a lot of the low output I was getting from my XM radio using the FM modulator. It mounted behind the stock radio.

IT was easy to install.
